General Traffic Regulations << PREVIOUS                

1.     All the members shall co-operate to preserve and maintain peace in the compound. Running of motorized vehicles and cycles within the premises shall be undertaken with utmost care to prevent any accidents or injuries.

2.     Allowed maximum speed for all type of vehicles within the complex is 15 kmph. Members are request to ensure that this is adhered to by their family members, guests and drivers. Any violations can be noted in the complaint book with registration number of the vehicle, details of the owner if known, date and time of the incident, name of the driver, etc.

3.     Entry from East Coast Road (ECR) into SHIVANI will always be through the North gate (closer to the police booth and exit will be through the South gate (closer to Baid IT Park).

4.     The gate to the north of Block-3 (near Temple) will remain closed all the time and will be opened by the security for the use of the vehicles with a permanent sticker of Shivani. No entry / exit will be allowed through this gate between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM.

5.     Between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM, only one gate on the ECR side will be open for both entry and exit of vehicles.

6.     All vehicle owners/drivers are requested to have their car / two wheeler headlights on while driving at night inside the complex.

7.     Members should follow the instructions on the sign boards; should keep their guests aware of the traffic and parking regulations.

8.     Use of horn is prohibited inside the basement. All car owners are requested to switch off reverse horn and not play loud music on the car radio system while in the campus.

9.     Smoking is not permitted in the common area around the buildings by the member, their guests or employees.

10.     The vehicles of outsiders (including taxis and auto-rikshaws) would not be allowed inside the complex except in exceptional circumstances like a) Carrying/Picking up heavy luggage which cannot be carried in hand. b) Vehicle dropping/picking up aged/disabled. It is suggested that those vehicles can be parked outside the North gate for easy pickup / drop.

11.         Inside the gates, parking will be allowed only for those residents or commercial business employees / visitors who have designated parking spaces inside SHIVANI.

12.         Every Owner / Resident is expected to park their vehicle only in their own parking space allotted in their ‘parking lot aggreement’. Only one four wheeler can be parked in one allotted parking space. They are to be parked well inside the parking space without protruding into the walkway or driveway. Parking in any space other than the designated parking spaces is forbidden.

13.         Every Owner / Resident is expected not to park their vehicle in parking spaces other than their own. Any action taken by the other parking space owner against such illegally parked vehicle will not be the responsibility of SOA.

14.         No four wheelers can be parked in the spaces designated for 2 wheelers at any time.

15.         Any legal action arising out of improper stopping or parking of vehicles by a Shivani member outside the gates of the Shivani will be the responsibility of the individual / establishment.

16.         Owners of vehicles shall park their vehicles at their own risk and take precautions to ensure the safety of their vehicles by installing appropriate anti-theft devices. SOA will not take any responsibility for any loss of damage to vehicles inside or outside Shivani.

17.         Any alteration of parking lot markings, number or dimensions by owners, residents or commercial establishments of Shivani is strictly forbidden. Any changes warranted can be done only by SOA.

18.         Seeking a parking space inside the premises by extending monitory or other concessions to the Shivani security or maintenance staff will result in a fine amount, as approved by the general body from time to time, for each occurrence apart from the dismissal of the security staff if he / she has been proved to have accepted the same.

19.         Stickers will be issued free of cost to the four wheel vehicles of residents or regular users of commercial establishments. 

  1. Every member will be given only as many stickers as the number of spaces he / she owns. It must be permanently stuck on the left inside of the windshield of the car of the owner or the tenant.
  2. If only the parking space is rented out, it must be stuck on the car of the tenant. Please note that the car space cannot be rented to anyone who do not reside in the complex.
  3. If a tenant vacates, it is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that the sticker is taken back. Also do the same when you sell your car.
  4. If the sticker is damaged while transferring from the previous four wheeler, a nominal amount of Rs.100 will be charged for issuing a new sticker. The old sticker should be returned to the secretary. Replacement for lost stickers can be obtained by paying Rs.200.
  5. If the sticker is transferred from one car to another, the same may please be entered in the register available with the secretary.
  6. Cars that are parked overnight should have a sticker. No stickers are planned for 2 wheelers at present. 

20.        Residents are not allowed to rent out the parking space alone to an outsider who does not reside in the Shivani. Any exchange of parking spaces between the members is to be conveyed in writing to SOA with the signature of both the members.

21.       Commercial establishments are not allowed to let their parking spaces be used by outsiders who do not work with them or visit them temporarily during the day to consume the services. Overnight parking of vehicles in the commercial parking lots is not allowed without prior arrangement with SOA MC.

22.       Members would be allowed to park their Two Wheelers in their Parking Lots provided they are not a hindrance to the parking of the cars by the owners of the adjacent Parking lots.

23.       Vehicles can be cleaned in the basement by swabbing the car with wet mop or cloth ensuring that the water used for this purpose is disposed of properly. Water stagnation in the parking lot is to be avoided.

24.       No major vehicle repair which involve excessive noise or spillage of oil/smoke may be made within the premises.

Guest Parking - Residents

25.        The guest parking and two wheeler parking made available to Shivani residents around blocks 2 and 3, if any, cannot be used by Commercial establishments or their visitors.

26.        Mode of operation for parking spaces for guests of residents inside the gates:

  1. Short term guest parking can be made use of by visitors for Shivani residents on a first come, first served basis. Each visitor vehicle can be parked inside for a maximum of 4 hours in a span of 24 hrs from the time of entry. An entry in the guest vehicle register is to be made by the host / visitor.
  2. As many Four wheeler tokens (in pairs) as the number of guest parking spaces available will be made available with the maintenance supervisor or 3rd block security.
  3. A resident of Shivani will be issued a token if they want to accommodate a visitor vehicle in the guest parking. One of the tokens will be collected by the security at the Entry and the duplicate should be displayed inside the windshield of the vehicle whilst inside the premises.  The duplicate will be collected by the security at the Exit when the vehicle leaves Shivani. This process will have to be repeated every time a vehicle has to enter the premises.
  4. The cars of visitors, upon authorization by concerned host over phone or in person to the security, can be allowed to be parked in the designated parking slot of the host when it is vacant.
  5. The parking of a visitor’s vehicle overnight inside the complex would be allowed if the host informs the manager of this requirement in advance.

27.   Vehicles of Drivers/Maids also need to be parked within the designated parking lot of the Resident. Guest parking should not be used for this purpose.

Guest Parking - Commercial Establishments

28.   All two wheelers of short time visitors should be parked outside the gates.

29.    Commercial visitors will not be allowed to enter or use any area around blocks 2 and 3. Shivani security staff will be authorized to stop and send back such vehicles and visitors.

30.    Commercial establishment who have parking in the front of the building should post their security staff and ensure that vehicles of their visitors do not block the entrance / exit or the drive ways of Shivani.

31.    Mode of operation for parking spaces inside the gates:

  1. As many Four wheeler tokens (in pairs) as the number of parking spaces owned will be issued to every owner (less the number of permanent stickers issued for regular parking).
  2. A representative of the commercial establishment should issue a token to a vehicle user whom they want to park in their designated parking space. One of the tokens will be collected by the security at the Entry and the duplicate should be displayed inside the windshield of the vehicle whilst inside the premises.  The duplicate will be collected by the security at the Exit when the vehicle is leaving Shivani and handed over to the representative of the commercial establishment for reissue.
  3. Alternatively, the commercial establishment can use wallet-parking or supervised parking to achieve the same results. 
  4. The period of usage or the genuineness of usage of their lot is to be controlled by the respective commercial establishment.
